{RECIPE} chocolate peanut butter rice krispie pops

NEW RECIPE: chocolate peanut butter rice krispie pops!
this may be hard to believe but as i shared on facebook earlier this month –
i had never made rice krispie treats before.
shocking i know. but i made three batches that night to perfect and attain the gooey goodness that i love about rice krispie treats!

as you know, i can’t make average macarons… so why would i make average rice krispie treats?
i used chocolate krispies with peanut butter and added popsicles sticks for a fun way to enjoy them!
and drizzled a lil chocolate and peanut butter on top for good measure.

please note: yes. i spelled it both ‘krispy’ and ‘krispie’ in this post and on the photos.
you already accept my disfunctional punctuation and capitalization so why not my spelling too?

2 Tbsp. butter
14 oz marshmallows
3 Tbsp. peanut butter
3 1/2 cups chocolate rice krispies
popsicle sticks
chocolate chips
peanut butter chips

line a sheet pan with parchment paper
melt butter in a large sauce pan and add marshmallows on med-low heat
stir until combined and marshmallows are fully melted
add peanut butter and stir to combine
remove from heat and immediately add rice krispies stiring to coat with marshmallows
scoop out cereal dividing it into 5 even piles on the parchment paper
allow to cool slightly so you can mold it into a popsicle shape and place popsicle stick into each
once cooled, drizzle melted chocolate chips and peanut butter chips over the top
dress it up with a fun ribbon on the stick and enjoy!

makes 5 large rice krispie pops (they are big – see the photo below)
note: the high marshmallow content not only made it easier to mold, but kept them perfectly chewey for longer! these would be a great thing to serve at a party since they can be made ahead of time and they are super fun to eat
my lil one was sure excited to be my taste tester on this one
(well lets be honest. if it has sugar in it she is excited – but she really did love them!)

  5. These are seriously adorable! I know my kids would love them. One of my best friends – Michelle – knows you and was speaking highly of you, so I had to come and check out your blog. Love it!!

  6. Love the pops. This may be a crazy question. But can you tell me what methodmyou used to melt the chips. I only use the candy melts. Tried the chips but it did not work for me. It would not set. Thanks!

    • i just use mini chocolate chips and the reses pb chips. i use a microwave safe bowl and heat them on ‘defrost’ in 30 sec intervals and stir inbetween each. when they are melted i drizzle them on and leave them alone for a few hours to be sure they set. i hope that helps!!

  7. These look soo delicious. If I didn’t want to make the stick version what size pan would you recommend putting it in?
Would you have to grease the pan? Thanks for bringing an original sounding “RC Treat”.
