who is ready for spring? with all the snow pouring down across the towns of so many of my friends and family, i thought it was time for a little spring pick-me-up! something to get you excited about the weather just around the corner so i’m sharing a fun outfit, accessories, and makeup tips for spring!
i am LOVING this cute wallet/clutch from Kate Spade (thanks to my amazing sister Taylor!) and thought it paired perfect with fun spring colors like my hot pink nails and shoes as well as my cute purple top.
i’m sort of a ‘no fuss’ person when it comes to my hair so i kept it simple and ‘real life’ – this is a pretty typical hair style for me. its a simple loose french braid secured in the back by two crossing bobby pins. if you dont feel like wearing you hair down you can still upgrade your ponytail by keeping the braid! (anyone at school pick up knows that i’m usually doing the pony tail version of this look!)
okay so now on to some makeup tips for spring!
all the make up is from Walgreens - i actually scored two of these Cover Girl eyeshadows and two of these Revlon ColorBurst lipsticks in different spring palates because they were having a two for one deal! Walgreens has an amazing beauty section and its always my go-to place because of the selection and the prices. i thought this lipstick, nailpolish, and eyeshadow would be perfect for spring. i must admit though, it was hard to choose the lipstick!! did you see that picture of the Revlon section? there were so many amazing colors to choose from – and this is just the Revlon section!
for my lips, i created this look by using the matte balm with just a bit of gloss overtop. i used the shades of the quad eyeshadow to create this look for my eyes. start with the color on the far right and apply from the base of your eyelash to the crease of your eyelid first. then use the dark purple on the far left of the palate to accent the sides of your eyes and the crease. finally, use the lightest color in the quad to highlight the inside corner of your eyes, underneath, and just under your eyebrow. don’t be too heavy handed with they eye shadow – the look is perfect for spring because it is light and bright. it can go quickly to a ‘winter purple’ if you apply too much so keep it easy and carefree!
makeup & nail polish: Walgreens
shoes: Walmart (crazy but YES! they are a knock off these Steve Madden shoes)
wallet/clutch: Kate Spade
Elephant Neclace: J.Crew
Purple top: Old Navy
if the winter is giving you the blues – dont wait for spring to wear something fun and bright! even if its under your parka you will know its there and make you feel like spring is just around the corner!
