Aubrey is 6! Pink & Gold Macaron Party

Aubrey's Birthday Party

my daughter turned 6! six wonderful years have passed with this little ball of energy and we could not be more proud the the little girl she has become. to celebrate, we had a small group of girls over for some sweets and fun, but we also did a ‘big girl’ makeover in her room! all inspired by The Land of Nod confectionary bedding, her room and birthday party were filled with macarons and pops of girly gold, pink, and teal. her room reveal will run on Honest to Nod blog soon, but for now here are the party pics!

i always said that we would wait until she was 8 for her first sleepover, but we bent the rules a bit this time! one of her best friends is moving next month – her name is aubrey as well! they are two peas in a pod. i wanted to do something memorable before they moved so that aubrey & aubrey would have a special memory together. we decided on a sleepover with just the two of them in her new big girl room. this was her first sleepover – we were not sure how this was going to go, and wanted to include her other best friends as well, SO we had a pajama party for everyone that day! all the girls looked adorable with their pj’s and eye masks! i served macarons of course along with a few other yummy treats!

Hearts and Macarons - Girly Dessert Table

for the backdrop, i used my Cricut to cut the hearts and just used double sided tape to secure it to an extra large white board. i used the plantain schoolbook cartridge (it came standard with my machine) and cut the heart in ‘roly poly’. i used 12×12 scrapbooking paper in gold and pink shades and cut them to fill the paper as large as it would go. also, just fyi — i have found that hobby lobby carries the biggest white boards and that is what i use on my party backdrops – but beware it does not fit in most cars!
