Best Restaurants of Napa Valley

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of California Restaurant Month for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

I recently realized while talking to my hubby that we have now lived in California longer than we have lived anywhere else in our married lives! After four and a half years here, we have visited much of what northern California has to offer – lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Sacramento, Yosemite, Sequoia, Sonoma, and more.

While we have loved it all, the Napa valley tops the list as one of our favorites.  Even though we don’t drink, the abundance of high quality restaurants and rolling hills are astounding. We are lucky to live close enough to spend date nights, day trips, and special occasions there and have been able to sample a lot of restaurants. Between our experiences and local recommendations here is the list of  Best Restaurants of Napa Valley  that you must try!

Gott’s Roadside

I’m going to go casual first with Gott’s Roadside.  Formerly called Taylor’s refresher at the original location in St. Helena, the menu is what I would call ‘upper class diner food’… burgers and shakes – but top notch ones. My absolute favorite is the ahi tuna burger! It has been featured on Triple D and is a must try along with their pistachio shake and garlic fries. There are several locations – two in the Napa valley, one in San Francisco and one in Palo Alto. Pretty much ANY time someone comes to visit our family we go there!

Mustards Grill & Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen

Cindy Pawlcyn is my kind of gal.  30 years ago she opened Mustard’s grill and it is widely known as the place that local chefs go on their night off…. So you KNOW its good.  The wood fired pork chops are my favorite and one of the most popular menu items.  It is SO good. While I have not personally been to Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen, I have heard amazing things and its on my list. And I’m pretty sure I would eat anything that Cindy made.

Morimoto Napa

There is just something so cool and swanky about Morimoto’s downtown Napa restaurant. So cool that I even remember the exact seat we sat in! And let’s be honest he is the ORIGINAL Iron chef so it is just so cool to eat food conceptualized by him. I loved my sushi and sashimi dish and my hubby had a fabulous ribeye. Everything was delicious but it was also SO beautifully plated.

Bouchon Bakery & Bistro

Yes. Please. Thomas Keller is the mastermind behind this famous bakery and amazing restaurant in Yountville.  The macarons there are huge – and you all know I am a sucker for macarons. I could eat those alone, but be sure to try his bistro as well – it will rock your socks.

Tra Vigne

This one is in St. Helena but is it worth the drive.  The ambiance in the outdoor seating is SO adorable and romantic. My hubby and I recently went there for our 10 year anniversary and I’ll always remember it! I got the short ribs (ah-mazing) and my hubby got the pork chop (also ah-mazing).  I also recommend the carpaccio but maybe I am biased because that is always my favorite thing on any menu. But no matter what you order – sit outside!

Here are a few other recommendaitons from local friends!
